What can I say, it started normally for a friendship day…some nice calls, some senti-type gal pal stuff and a nice coffee meet up at the mall. And then it happened. I called Z. Been thinking of ‘friend-ing’ that guy for a long while but he’s the quiet broody type and so have not been able to make out where he’s coming from. As expected, was really reclusive on the phone, and quiet when I suggested a drink date in the evening, but then hesitantly agreed.
OK now I was mad. Firstly at myself, for forcing my attentions on this man made of stone, and secondly, for letting my feelings show! So I dressed with a vengeance for our date, all the while fully convinced that the best thing for this pompous ass was to tell him where he got off… I really dressed up and you know what that means.
Sashayed into the club with my lovely crimson wraparound heels tapping a sexy rhythm, and my lil’ black number turning heads of both sexes. You heard it right, I was serious about letting this guy see just what he had so narrowly missed being a part of. He barely glanced at me as I sat down, the nerve of the guy! Now I was officially seething. And then, just as I was working up a fine flather and starting to tell him all the nineteen reasons why I didn’t actually want to be friends with him, he goes and says those magic words that blew me away completely….”Nina, you’re really something else you know…have been wanting to say that for just so long…”
Aren’t guys marvelous? And isn’t friendship the most fun bond ever? Having a McFriendship moment here when I say…I’m lovin’ it!
Cheers, Nina
