It’s interesting when I go places and am asked my predictions on the future of e-commerce in India, and it makes me think hard before I answer. Because there’s one thing that’s predictable about our business, that it’s fundamentally unpredictable. It’s constantly changing – by chance and by design, and each day brings new challenges. While negotiating these can sometimes be very tricky, I feel it’s safe to say that these hurdles are often instrumental in creating transformations for our business.
These past months have been one such exciting journey, when – all said and done – 99labels delivered solid results, made measured progress, and continued to build our company into one of the country’s leading enterprises for event-based private sales. It feels good, and it also feels like we’re figuring out the next steps.
I’m impatient by nature and, therefore, very focused on speeding up our progress. As a company, we’re doing this through a number of strategies. While the statements themselves seem relatively simple, the complexity is in the detail, and our priorities are clearly centered on the implementation.
Changes are taking place in our heartland industry of e-commerce. We won’t see a brick-and-mortar-store free world anytime soon, but we are seeing less reliance on that type of shopping in our daily lives, and increasingly so. I believe that 99labels, along with other key players in this section of the e-world are very likely behind the scenes, making it happen.
As I hope you can tell, this work excites me. We are just hitting our stride. And, I’m confident that, together, a world of opportunity is ours for the taking. Welcome again to the continuing excitement of the 99ride, and know one thing for sure: it’s not getting predictable anytime soon!
Very warmly, Ishita
