Did a delightful poll with my gal-pals recently, and wanted to share! We were all chilled out at the mall café and R started it off, you see, she’s been in a sort of plateau place with her guy of the moment and she’s pretty fed-up of not being acknowledged enough. The opinions varied, I thought that guys were just like that, not in touch with their emotions enough, V thought that that was so not true, and Z wanted to just order more Mississippi mud cake, calories be dammed!
So we took a tally of the most romantic things that we’ve ever done or had done for us, and it was such a great bunch of revelations! Consider these gems:
- V’s guy carried back a half-eaten brownie all the way fromBombayairport, just because there weren’t any more, and he found it insanely good and wanted to share it with her…
- Z said she always has a miniature bottle of her guy’s signature aftershave in her bag so she can get a whiff of him whenever she wants…(I confess I’m guilty of wearing my guy’s cologne too, just to get that sexy buzz all day!)
- V got her guy’s name secretly tattooed under the promise ring he gave her, sighhhh….
- And then there’s me, I actually sat through a really long, stretched out Jazz concert just to watch my man’s face through it. He was in absolute heaven and I’m not that much of a fan of serious jazz, but hey, watching him was a revelation, and totally, awesomely romantic!
So that’s mainly the girls doing the gesture-thing, but guys can be sweeties too, so why fight it? To each his own brand of romance I’ll say, what’s your take?
Cheers, Nina
